The Winners of the 2007 Blooker have been announced

"My War: Killing Time in Iraq", by Colby Buzzell, has topped 110 entries from 15 countries to win the 2007 Lulu Blooker Prize. It is the frank account of post-invasion Iraq as blogged directly from the war zone. Winning the Fiction category is "The Doorbells of Florence" by British blogger Andrew Losowsky. This book of short stories based on photographs was self-published through Lulu.com. Rounding out the awards is Comics category winner "Mom's Cancer" by Brian Fies. Originally an Eisner Award-winning webcomic, it is the true-life account of his mother's struggle with metastatic lung cancer. See the official contest blog for more details.

The Lulu Blooker Prize is the world's first literary prize devoted to "blooks"-books based on blogs or other websites, including webcomics.

About the Blooker Prize
Blooks are the world's fastest-growing new kind of book and an exciting new stage in the life-cycle of content, if not a whole new category of content.

The Lulu Blooker Prize is sponsored by Lulu, the world's fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books, including a growing number of blooks. However, the judges are independent of Lulu and no favor will be shown to blooks published on Lulu.
